New York-based label links with Vital.
TVT Records has signed a U.K. distribution deal with Vital. The New York-based label, which will announce the deal tomorrow (June 8), plans to open offices in London in July, and will announce a head of U.K. operations soon.
TVT's U.K. releases were previously handled by Universal-Island, via a licensing deal that expired last month, the label says.
The first releases under the new deal include hit albums by Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, Ying Yang Twins and Sevendust, as well as the debuts by Ambulance LTD and Pitbull.
For the rest of Europe, TVT has separate deals in each territory; the label is self-distributed in Australia and Canada.
"We feel Vital is the one distributor that provides the focus we need to fully drive our releases in the U.K.," says TVT Records president and founder Steve Gottlieb. "We're delighted to be in business with a company that shares our common vision and the independent spirit."
