Broadband service offers hits, classic titles.

Starz Encore Group and RealNetworks have launched a subscription movie service for broadband customers, Starz! Ticket on Real Movies.

Subscribers pay $12.95 per month for unlimited access to a rotating library of films. The companies say downloads can take as little as 20 minutes, depending on the user's broadband connection speed. The films are accessible at movies.real.com or at starz.com.

At least 100 movies, including recent box-office hits and classic films, will be available at any time. Current offerings include "Finding Nemo," "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," "2 Fast 2 Furious," "Taxi Driver" and "A Raisin in the Sun." Movie extras, including celebrity interviews and outtakes, will be available for some films. About 25% of the film inventory will change per week.

Subscribers can download films to up to three PCs, and can also schedule downloads overnight. A parental-control feature based on movie rating is also available.
