A second all-star 46664 concert, this time with mainly Latin artists, is to be held at the Les Foietes Stadium in Benidorm, Spain, on August 21. The "46664 Latino" event follows the initial 46664 concert held November 29, 2003, in Cape Town.

The event, organized by the Cape Town-based Nelson Mandela Foundation, will again serve to raise global awareness of the HIV-AIDS pandemic in Africa.

Some 30,000 people are expected to watch the concert at the popular Spanish beach resort, and millions more will watch highlights on a TV special planned for World Aids Day on December 1. The broadcast will be shown across Latin America and other countries.

Confirmed artists so far include Miguel Bosé, Chayanne, Joaquín Cortés, Paco de Lucia, Azucar Moreno, Diego Torres, Ricardo Montaner, Franco de Vita, Montserrat Caballé, as well as non-Latins Queen, Dave Stewart and Zucchero.

Producer of 46664 Latino is Luis Alvarez. Funds will benefit the Nelson Mandela Foundation, which develops strategic alliances to foster community action on HIV and AIDS in South Africa.

The event takes its name from Mandela's prison number during his 18-year imprisonment on Robben Island, off Cape Town.
