Former Warner Music Latina president George Zamora has teamed with producer Sergio George on a new independent Latin label. SGZ Entertainment, which stands for Sergio George Zamora, is based in Miami.

Former Warner Music Latina president George Zamora has teamed with producer Sergio George on a new independent Latin label. SGZ Entertainment, which stands for Sergio George Zamora, is based in Miami.

SGZ will be distributed by Sony Norte, but will handle its own marketing and promotion through an independent firm. The first act signed to the label is tropical star Tito Nieves, who expects to release a new studio album by the end of August.

Zamora will serve as label president, while George will have the position of VP/A&R director. Zamora expects to release five albums by November.

Zamora was president of Warner Music Latina from 1997 until early this year.
