Bruno Ory-Lavolée has been appointed director general of French collecting society Adami, effective July 15. He replaces Jean-Claude Walter, who unexpectedly departed in January. Adami secretary general Jean-François Dutertre had occupied the position on a interim basis.

Ory-Lavolée, 44, was most recently secretary general of the Cour des Comptes, a government body that monitors the use of state funds. Before then, he was director general of the Comédie française, France's most prestigious theater, and director general of the Georges Pompidou center.

Ory-Lavolée's first priority will be the creation of a joint society between Adami and former rival collecting society Spedidam.
