Producer takes over from Díaz.
Producer/songwriter Kike Santander has been elected chairman of board of trustees for the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
Santander, a multiple Grammy-winner and one of the top Latin music producers in the market, replaces Manolo Díaz, who last year became the first chairman of the newly created board. Díaz was recently appointed president/CEO of EMI Spain, a position he will assume in September.
Santander was elected unanimously by the Latin Academy board of trustees. He says the appointment will not affect his schedule of production work, including albums by Alejandro Fernández and Pablo Montero.
