Peter Murphy, former front man for Bauhaus, has signed an exclusive, multi-album, worldwide recording deal with the ViaStar Media Corp.

The first release under the deal will be a new studio album, due Sept. 21. The set features musical contributions from Jane's Addiction alumni Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery, as well as guitarists Tim Pierce (Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi) and Peter DiStefano (Porno For Pyros). Production is by ViaStar senior VP Gardner Cole.

ViaStar encompasses several labels and an independent distributor with U.S. and international channels.

As a solo artist, Murphy has recorded for Beggars Group and Metropolis, the latter of which released his most recent album, "Dust," in 2002.
