David Bowie has axed the remaining dates on the European leg of his A Reality tour after suffering a pinched nerve in his shoulder. The artist has already called off four shows, including a planned headlining appearance at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. The problem also cut short a show last week in Prague.

"Due to the continuing pain and extreme discomfort from a trapped/pinched nerve in his shoulder and to prevent possible further injury, David Bowie has been advised by his doctors to cancel his performances at the eleven remaining European festival dates throughout July," Bowie's official Web site reports.

The affected dates include festival shows in Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, France and Belgium.
