BMG Strategic Marketing Group in New York has made two key promotions.

Matthew Stringer has been upped from VP to senior VP of marketing and creative services.

Stringer will continue to oversee product management, marketing and creative services for BMG's Heritage label. He will also be involved in strategic initiatives for all BMG catalog efforts and those in association with the special-products and strategic-marketing staffs. Additionally, he will serve as a liaison between artists and managers, outside partners and departments that include A&R, sales, finance and business affairs.

Stringer reports to Joe DiMuro, executive VP of BMG Strategic Marketing Group.

Also, Howard Lau has been named VP of finance and strategic planning for the group. He was most recently senior director of finance at BMG North America.

Lau's duties include overseeing all financial control and reporting functions for Heritage, special products and digital licensing.

Lau reports to Stacey Bain, senior VP of finance and administration.
