SMG, the facility-management company that runs the Miami Beach Convention Center and the Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts, has named Mitch Morales as director of marketing/booking for the latter venue.

Morales will be responsible for all bookings at the 2,700-seat theater, leading the SMG Miami Beach marketing department and executing business-development strategies on behalf of the venue.

Morales joins SMG after a tenure with the Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority as director of entertainment and marketing for the Miami Arena. He has also served as concert director for New York's Madison Square Garden, worked as an independent event-marketing consultant, and spent three years at the William Morris Agency in Los Angeles and New York.
