Popular Italian TV and radio personality Fiorello has signed a multi-album deal with BMG Ricordi.

BMG Ricordi president/CEO Adrian Berwick tells Billboard.biz that the new, as-yet-untitled, album "contains some songs in the style of Michael Bublé and it should be a big seller for the Christmas market." The album is scheduled for release at the end of September. Fiorello's last album "Veramente Falso" ("Truly False") -- issued in 1995 through RTI, now a division of Sony Music Italy's S4 label -- sold 400,000 copies, according to a spokesperson.

Separtely, BMG Ricordi acts Gemelli Diversi and Articolo 31, have re-signed multi-album contracts with the label. "There is obviously a lot of uncertainty regarding the impending merger with Sony, but these acts clearly have faith in the future," says Berwick. According to the label, each of the acts' most recent albums shifted 200,000 units.
