Global Spectrum has promoted Brett Mitchell and Doug Higgons to regional directors.

Mitchell will expand his role as GM of the Overland Park Convention Center in Overland Park, Kansas, to oversee the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines and future venues in the midwest for Global Spectrum. Higgons, who remains GM of the Ted F. Constant Convocation Center on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., will oversee the University of Central Florida's multi-purpose venue and a proposed new arena for the university, as well as future venues in the southeast.

Mitchell reports to Western Regional VP Dean Dennis; Higgons reports to Regional VP Neil Sulkes.

Prior to joining Global Spectrum in 2001 to oversee the opening of Overland Park, Mitchell was facility director for South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, Utah. He also spent six years at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.

A 12-year veteran of facility and events management, Higgons joined Global Spectrum in l994 as a marketing specialist at the company's Philadelphia headquarters, prior to being named marketing manager at the West Palm Beach (Fla.) Auditorium. He has held key posts at the Whittemore Center Arena in Duraham, N.H.; the Colorado Springs World Arena; the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Mass.; and the University of Rhode Island's Convocation Center.
