Warner Music U.K. confirms that Gareth Currie has exited. Currie had been GM of the EastWest division, which was recently renamed Atlantic Records. The GM post has been eliminated.

The moves were part of a recent rebranding that brings the U.K. company in line with Warner's U.S. structure. In addition to the EastWest name change, WEA London Records became Warner Bros. Records U.K.

Since joining EastWest in mid-2003, Currie helped guide the careers of the Darkness, Muse, Ash, Sean Paul and the Corrs. He was among the first key appointments made by former EastWest managing director Korda Marshall, who is now MD of Atlantic U.K. Marshall joined the major in May 2003 after it acquired his previous employer, Mushroom Records U.K.

Before joining Warner, Currie was head of marketing at Universal Island Records U.K. and marketing manager at EMI's Parlophone label.
