Blockbuster today (Aug. 11) debuted its Blockbuster Online rental service.

The service, which offers a selection of 25,000 new and catalog titles, costs $19.99 per month and allows consumers to keep three rentals out at a time. Subscribers also receive two coupons for free in-store rentals each month.

Other subscription options include a $29.99 monthly plan, which lets consumers keep five movies at a time, and a $39.99 plan, which allows for eight.

Subscribers will receive their titles two or three days after making their selections online, the company says.

Blockbuster’s prices are similar to those of online competitors Netflix and Walmart.com.

Netflix, which also boasts 25,000 titles, offers a a two-movie plan for $14.99, three for $21.99, five for $33.99 or eight for $49.99. Walmart.com, which has 15,000 titles, offers two for $15.54, three for $18.86 or four for $21.94. Netflix additionally offers next-day delivery in many markets.
