Fuse president Marc Juris has resigned to become GM at Court TV. His last day at Fuse will be Oct. 1, and he will officially join Court TV Oct. 4. Juris had been president of Fuse since January 2002, when the network was known as MuchMusic USA. MuchMusic USA revamped as Fuse in May 2003, and severed ties with MuchMusic in Canada.
Fuse is owned by Rainbow Media Holdings, a subsidiary of Cablevision System Corp. Under Juris' leadership, Fuse began an aggressive marketing campaign which often criticized rival MTV. Prior to joining MuchMusic USA/Fuse, Juris was executive VP/GM of American Movie Classics.
In a statement, Cablevision COO Tom Rutledge commented, "Marc has been a great asset to Fuse. We will miss him and wish him well at Court TV. We have a remarkably creative and innovative executive team in place at Fuse that will continue to build on the network's success as it moves forward."
Fuse representatives had no comment on the network's plans to find Juris' successor.
