House of Blues will produce the first national headlining tour by singer/songwriter Mindy Smith, beginning Oct. 1 at the Orange Peel in Asheville, N.C.

The Vanguard artist headlined select dates last spring after testing the touring waters by opening for John Hiatt and Nickel Creek. Smith is managed by Casey Verbeck at Partners in Music and booked by Jay Williams at the William Morris Agency.

The 29-date tour wil play such venues as Trocadero in Philadelphia (Oct. 8), B.B. King's Blues Club in New York (9), the Recher Theatre in Baltimore (10), House of Blues in Chicago (24) and the Boulder (Colo.) Theatre (28) before wrapping Nov. 7 at the L.A. House of Blues. Tickets for the first leg go on sale Aug. 28. Joining Smith in several markets will be special guests Charlie Mars and Garrison Starr.

Smith, who will be touring in support of her debut Vanguard release, "One Moment More," will be featured in October on the "Sirius House of Blues Emerging Artist of the Month" radio series.
