London-based digital download service Wippit has struck content licensing deals with independent labels Sanctuary Records, Beggars Group and Roadrunner.

As a result of the pacts –- announced today (Aug. 26) -- Wippit users can legally download tracks from artists such as the White Stripes, Morrissey, Slipknot, Nickelback and the Prodigy.

According to Wippit, the new labels will add 25,000 titles to the digital company's catalog, bringing its total to 180,000. Wippit also has licensing deals with EMI, BMG, Sony and more than 200 indies.
