Best Buy and NBC Universal are teaming to cross-promote the DVD release "The Apprentice--The Complete First Season" and the fall NBC TV season.

More than 600 Best Buy locations are giving away free preview discs featuring sneak peaks into six NBC shows premiering this fall. No purchase is necessary.

Best Buy is featuring the five-DVD "Apprentice" package and the NBC preview disc in in-store displays and upcoming weekly circulars. Additionally, Best Buy will be running NBC promos on TV screens in stores, and a Best Buy cable TV ad will feature "The Apprentice" DVD.

NBC is also promoting "The Apprentice: Season Two," which debuts Sept. 9, with a nationwide radio contest. Prizes will include the DVD package and the NBC preview disc, and stations will be advertising the availability of both at Best Buy locations.

"The Apprentice" set, which retails for ($59.98) and is released by Universal Studios Home Video, includes a number of extra features such as a "making of" documentary and a preview of season two.
