Toshio Kobayashi has been named to the board of directors of Japanese labels group the Recording Industry Assn. of Japan (RIAJ).

Toshio Kobayashi has been named to the board of directors of Japanese labels group the Recording Industry Assn. of Japan (RIAJ).

Kobayashi, who had been managing director of leading independent record company Avex, is now president of the company, replacing Tom Yoda. Yoda stepped down as head of the RIAJ earlier this month after resigning as chairman/CEO of Avex.
