The Musicland Group named Kristin Peterson LeBre as VP/in-house counsel.

She will manage legal matters for the corporation and its retail stores. In addition to supporting the company's legal team, her responsibilities include intellectual property work, litigation and coordination of outside resources.

Peterson LeBre's legal experience spans 15 years in commercial, corporate and employment law. She began her legal career representing clients in all aspects of commercial and employment litigation during nine years with Winthrop & Weinstine and four years with Fingerhut Corp.

Most recently, she was an assistant general counsel for the Nash Finch Co., a retail and wholesale grocery company.

Peterson LeBre eared her J.D. from the University of Iowa's College of Law.

The Musicland Group, which is based in Minnetonka, Minn., is a leading national specialty retailer of music, movies and games. It operates more than 900 retail stores and online sites under the names Sam Goody, Media Play and Suncoast Motion Picture Co., in 48 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. In June 2003, Musicland was acquired by an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners.
