Jeremy Lascelles, CEO of Chrysalis Music Division, has been elected as vice chairman of the London-based labels body Assn. of Independent Music (AIM).

Lascelles, who was elected to the trade body's board at its 2003 annual general meeting (AGM), takes over the role from ex-board member Peter Quicke, managing director of British indie Ninja Tune, who retired by rotation at AIM's AGM in June.

AIM's board of directors made the decision earlier this week at its September meeting.

Lascelles joined Chrysalis Music U.K. in 1994 as managing director, and four years later was elevated to MD of the Echo label. He was promoted to CEO of the Chrysalis Music Division in August 2001.
