With three nods, Coheed & Cambria lead the nominees for the first mtvU Woodie Awards, which will recognize artists who have made an impact on the college-music scene. College TV network mtvU will air the awards show in early November at a date to be announced.

Coheed & Cambria are nominated for a soundtrack of my life Woodie (best album) for "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth" (Equal Vision), streaming Woodie (most streamed) for the song "A Favor House" and best showing Woodie (best tour). Beastie Boys, Modest Mouse, the Roots, Kenna, O.A.R. and Death Cab for Cutie tie with two nods each.

Modest Mouse and Death Cab for Cutie are both up for Woodie of the year (artist of the year), along with Jet, Anthony Hamilton and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Also nominated for soundtrack of my life Woodie are Franz Ferdinand's self-titled Sony album, the Postal Service's "Give Up" (Sub Pop), Jadakiss' "Kiss the Game Goodbye" (Interscope) and A-Kon's "Trouble" (Universal).

Voting is open to the public at mtvu.com and by calling 1-877-VOTE-MTVU; the voting polls close Oct. 15. According to mtvU, the network reaches more than 700 U.S. college campuses that have a combined enrollment of about 6 million people.
