Sources say contract was not renewed.

Malcolm Mimms has exited as president/COO of Nashville-based Christian music company Word Entertainment, a division of Curb/Warner. Sources speculate that Mimms' contract was up and not renewed. Prior to joining Word as president in the late '90s, Mimms had a successful law practice.

Other key label executives remain in place, including Word Label Group president Barry Landis, who previously reported to Mimms but will now report to Tom Whalley, chairman/CEO of Warner Bros. Records.

Word was founded more than 50 years ago and is one of the key players in the Christian music industry. Its roster includes Point of Grace, Jaci Velasquez, Rachael Lampa, Building 429 and Randy Travis.
