Miltos Karadsas has been appointed managing director of start-up Athens-based imprint Virus Music, a division of independent label Legend. Karadsas, who exited Minos-EMI as managing director in April, tells Billboard.biz that Virus will focus on artist development.

Distribution will be handled by Modern Times, a distribution arm of Legend.

Due Oct. 4, the imprint's first release will feature singer Dimitris Kokotas. Karadsas says he expects Virus will release 10-12 albums each year, with several aimed for the international market. Legend Records is part of the Alter Channel Group, which also includes interests Alter TV, Modern Times Publishing and Love Radio.
