Green Day will embark on an extensive North American tour in support of its new Reprise album "American Idiot." New Found Glory and Sugarcult are also on the bill.

The tour begins Oct. 16 at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans. The first leg, which has 24 stops, will wrap Nov. 24 at the Bill Graham Civic Center in San Francisco. The tour is presented by Verizon Wireless, with MTV2 as media sponsor.

Green Day is booked by Jenna Adler at Creative Artists Agency. The band last toured in 2002 on a co-headlining run with Blink 182 that grossed about $20 million from 45 dates, according to Billboard Boxscores.
