London-based Universal Music International (UMI) senior VP of marketing and A&R Max Hole has been promoted to executive VP, marketing and A&R, effective immediately.

London-based Universal Music International (UMI) senior VP of marketing and A&R Max Hole has been promoted to executive VP, marketing and A&R, effective immediately.

Hole has agreed to a long-term extension of his employment agreement with UMI, Billboard.biz has learned.

Based in London, he continues to report to UMI chairman and CEO Jorgen Larsen.

Hole was appointed senior VP at UMI in May 1998. Before that, he spent 16 years at Warner Music U.K., including a stint as managing director of WEA Records.

In his new position, he will continue to oversee the international exploitation of Universal Music's repertoire.

UMI's key projects in Q4 include new releases by U2, Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Andrea Bocelli, Shania Twain, Juanes and Bryan Adams.
