Mesa, Arizona-based ViaStar Records has signed a worldwide distribution agreement for the Oct. 19 release of singer/songwriter Peter Cetera's "You Just Gotta Love Christmas."

The sixth solo effort from Cetera –- who won a Grammy Award as part of the band Chicago –- will feature three original songs and duets with Alison Krauss and his daughter, Claire Cetera. The label is in talks regarding promotional TV appearances and a possible Christmas special around the album. The title track is being worked at AC radio.

"Peter Cetera is one of the most recognizable voices in pop music," says Richard Spector, COO of ViaStar's parent company, Phoenix-based ViaStar Media Corp. "We're looking forward to and excited about a long-term relationship with him."

Since leaving Chicago in 1985, Cetera has written several hits, including the 1986 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 "The Glory of Love," which was used as the theme to "Karate Kid Part II."

ViaStar Records was created last year and is distributed by ViaStar Distribution (formerly Electric Kingdom Distribution). The label's inaugural signing, former Bauhaus member Peter Murphy, will release his new album "Unshattered" on Oct. 19.
