Sony BMG today (Sept. 6) unveiled its executive team for the Nordic region.

Stockholm-based Per Sundin has been appointed managing director of Sony BMG Sweden. Until now, he was MD of Sony Music Nordic. In his new role, Sundin is also tasked with overseeing artist marketing coordination, strategic marketing and new business for the Nordic countries.

Meanwhile, Lena Midtveit, MD of BMG Norway has been appointed MD of the enlarged company in that territory. She has held posts as GM and marketing director, during her 10-years' service for Oslo-based BMG Norway.

Henrik Daldorph, MD of BMG Denmark, becomes MD of Sony BMG Denmark. Based in Copenhagen, Daldorph joined the company as product manager in 1993.

BMG Finland marketing manager Kimmo Valtanen is upped to MD of the new Finnish company. Formerly a bass player with Finnish band Supperheads, Valtanen joined Helsinki-based BMG Finland in 1997 as promotion manager.

Sundin, Midtveit, Daldorph and Valtanen all report to Maarten Steinkamp, who heads Sony BMG's operations in Continental Europe.

"The Nordic territories have great potential for many international as well as local artists and the combined roster of Sony and BMG holds tremendous promise for these markets," comments Steinkamp in a statement. The newly-appointed executive structure, he adds, will "make us an industry leader in the Nordic territories."
