Film industry veteran Eric Doctorow has been named COO of independent home-video company Ventura Entertainment Enterprises.

Film industry veteran Eric Doctorow has been named COO of independent home-video company Ventura Entertainment Enterprises.

Doctorow, who will be based in Los Angeles, will oversee the entertainment and distribution divisions and will manage Ventura’s numerous distribution deals with companies that include BET Home Video, Fox Television, Razor & Tie, Showtime and Tokyopop.

Doctorow most recently served as COO of video game publisher THQ. Before that, he spent 20 years at Paramount Pictures, including 10 as president of worldwide home entertainment for the Motion Picture Group.

Doctorow will work closely with Larry Hayes, Ventura’s chairman/CEO, and co-principal Craig Sussman.

Ventura has also named Chris Lynch as executive VP for the entertainment division and Jim Weatherson as executive VP/GM of Ventura Distribution.

Lynch has held positions with Paramount Domestic Television and BMG Entertainment. Weatherson most recently served as executive VP of Universal Music and Video Distribution.
