Zomba Label Group has purchased GospoCentric Records, which includes the GospoCentric Records and B-Rite Music labels.
Vicki Mack Lataillade founded GospoCentric in 1992. Her husband, Claude Lataillade, founded B-Rite Music in 1996. The two labels merged in 2001. The roster includes Kirk Franklin, Byron Cage, Tramaine Hawkins, R.J. Helton, Bobby Jones, J Moss and Dorinda Clark-Cole. The second volume in GospoCentric's "Gotta Have Gospel" series will be released through Zomba on Nov. 23.
Mack Lataillade will remain with the company as president, working out of Gospo-Centric's headquarters in Inglewood, Calif. She will report directly to Tom Carrabba, senior VP of sales and marketing/GM of the Zomba Label Group, which is based in New York. Zomba, a division of Sony BMG, is also the parent company for Verity Records, a gospel label celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
