Warner/Chappell Music Australia has promoted Matthew Capper to GM. Capper, who was manager of the licensing division, was recently appointed to oversee the company's remaining four staffers following a mid-year restructuring. In June, the Sydney-based publisher cut back its staff of 15 to four, releasing managing director Adam Lang in the process.
Capper joined Warner/Chappell in September 2003 in the role of copyright/royalty analyst. Prior to that, he was administration manager at Festival Music.
The Warner/Chappell Australia office now consists of Capper, licensing manager Angela Jewitt, licensing coordinator Jo Thornely and copyright/royalty assistant Andrew Bicknell. Capper says the company will concentrate on international repertoire, premium local repertoire and licensing revenue.
