Warner/Chappell Music Australia has promoted Matthew Capper to GM. Capper, manager of the licensing division, was recently appointed to oversee the company's remaining four staffers following a mid-year restructuring. In June, the Sydney-based company cut back its staff of 15 to four, releasing managing director Adam Lang in the process.

Capper joined the publishing company in September 2003 in the role as copyright/royalty analyst. Prior to that, he was administration manager at Festival Music.

The Warner Chappell Australia office now consists of licensing manager Angela Jewitt, licensing coordinator Jo Thornely, and copyright/royalty assistant Andrew Bicknell. Capper says the company will now concentrate on international repertoire, premium local repertoire and licensing revenue.
