Paolo Corsi has returned to EMI Music Publishing as managing director of its Milan-based Italian affiliate, with immediate effect. He succeeds Antonio Marrapodi, who died earlier this year at the age of 57.
Corsi began his career in 1983 as copyright and royalty manager at Edizioni Musicali La voce del Padrone, then the publishing division of EMI. The following year, he transferred to the company's creative department as professional manager for local and international repertoire before being appointed GM in 1986. Following the merger of EMI Music Publishing with SBK in 1989, he was named A&R director of the enlarged company.
During the '90s, he held senior A&R posts at Mediaset's RTI Music division and at Sony Music Italy's Epic label. Until recently, he was GM of the pop music publishing unit of BMG Ricordi Music Publishing Italy, a role he was appointed to in June 1996.
In his new post, Corsi reports to Peter Ende, president/CEO of EMI Music Publishing Continental Europe, and regional COO Terry Foster-Key.
