Sony BMG Music Entertainment in New York has named Joe DiMuro as executive VP of strategic marketing and Jeff Jones as executive VP of catalog. Both report to COO Michael Smellie.

DiMuro will oversee licensing for TV, film and commercial use; creative product development; partnership marketing; joint soundtrack projects between Sony and BMG labels; and content management of the Elvis Presley catalog.

DiMuro most recently served as executive VP/GM for BMG Strategic Marketing Group, a division he created in 2003. Prior to that, he was senior VP of strategic marketing at BMG North America, following a stint in strategic business development at RCA. Before joining BMG in 1998, DiMuro spent more than a decade at 20th Century Fox.

In his new post, Jones will handle archive development for U.S. and international catalog titles (excluding classical). He will also oversee the company's reissue divisions, including Legacy and BMG Heritage, and will develop archival projects. He will continue to manage the Columbia Jazz A&R and marketing departments.

Jones most recently held dual posts at Sony, as senior VP of Legacy Recordings and senior VP of jazz for Columbia Records. He joined the company, then CBS Records, in 1976, and was there until 1988, when he left for key roles at MCA, PolyGram Label Group and Elektra. Jones returned to Sony in 1995.
