Chayanne, Bisbal also win.
Paulina Rubio was the big winner at the sixth annual El Premio de la Gente Latin Music Fan Awards, held last night (Oct. 21) at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles.
Rubio won three awards, including artist of the year. She was not able to collect her trophies, as she was hosting the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America in Miami Beach.
Chayanne and David Bisbal followed with two wins each. Chayanne won for male pop artist of the year and best music video, while Bisbal was awarded best new artist and contemporary artist of the year.
Gloria Trevi, aka “the Mexican Madonna,” was scheduled to sing during the El Premio awards show, marking her first public performance since her release from prison.
The show will air Oct. 30 on the Telemundo network.
