Clear Channel Entertainment (CCE) is bolstering its European operations through the acquisition of Andrew Zweck's event management firm Sensible Events for an undisclosed sum.

With more than 20 years experience in the live music business working alongside Harvey Goldsmith, Zweck came to prominence as production director on Live Aid back in 1985. In 1996, he formed Sensible Events in Britain with Dave Hodson of Classical Productions and Jeff Allen of rental company Sensible Music. It swiftly became a leading artist and talent agency, booking and producing worldwide tours for such acts as Mark Knopfler, Roger Waters and Depeche Mode.

"It's great to have yet another world class agent with an outstanding track record joining our European team," comments CCE global music president Michael Rapino.

Zweck will continue to run Sensible Events as an autonomous unit, alongside CCE's other agencies ITB and Solo. He will also add duties as VP of touring for Clear Channel Europe; in that role, he will be tasked with delivering European tours and developing new business opportunities in China and other Asian markets.
