Songwriter has hits with Dixie Chicks, Tritt, more.

Famous Music has re-signed country songwriter Darrell Scott to an exclusive long-term global publishing deal.

Scott, who has been with Famous since 1996 and was named ASCAP's country music songwriter of the year in 2002, has written hits for the Dixie Chicks ("Heartbreak Town"), Travis Tritt ("Great Day to Be Alive"), Sara Evans ("Born to Fly"), Darryl Worley ("Family Tree"), Garth Brooks ("When No One's Around") and Patty Loveless and Brad Paisley (who both recorded "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive").

Scott -- who has songs on current releases by Tim McGraw, Andy Griggs and others -- has released solo albums on his Full Light/Rykodisc label and Sugar Hill Records.
