The management team of Viva Media is being shaken up following Viacom's takeover of the German music television group.

The management team of Viva Media is being shaken up following Viacom's takeover of the German music television group.

Viva head of television operations Ludwig Bauer announced today (Oct. 29) that he is stepping down, effective immediately. Viva CFO Christian Gisy confirmed that he will exit the Cologne-based broadcaster at the end of the year.

Bauer joined the company Feb. 1; prior to that, he was a board member of German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 group.

Gisy has served in his role at Viva since 2000; he added duties as managing director of the Brainpool TV subsidiary in December 2003. Prior to that, he was exective director at West LB Panmure in Düsseldorf, where he responsible for equity capital markets in the media/telecommunications sector.

Since Viacom acquired Viva Media in August, the company now operates four music channels in Germany: MTV, MTV2 Pop, Viva and Viva Plus.
