Sony BMG Entertainment U.K. and Ireland chairman/CEO Rob Stringer has appointed his executive team for those territories.

BMG U.K. and Ireland music-division president Ged Doherty takes the same title for the merged company. Doherty assumes =responsibility for the development, marketing and promotion of the merged company's local and international frontline artists.

At Sony BMG Ireland, Annette Donnelly takes the role of managing director. She was GM of Sony Music Ireland.

The company's sales activities will be helmed by senior VP of sales Nicola Tuer, who was VP of sales at Sony Music.

Sony legal veteran Alasdair George is upped to senior VP, legal and business affairs, for Sony BMG. A director of British collecting societies PPL and VPL, George was until recently VP of legal and business affairs for Sony Music U.K. and Ireland.

David Pearce, Sony Music VP of finance, administration and operations, is upped to senior VP of finance, IT and operations for the merged company.

Heading the company's new futures division will be BMG veteran Clive Rich, who takes the title of senior VP, futures. The futures operation will comprise Sony BMG's new and developing businesses, including new media and TV. Rich, who joined BMG Publishing in January 1989 as head of business affairs, was most recently BMG U.K. and Ireland's VP of legal and business affairs, new media and HR.

Richard Story takes charge of the enlarged company's commercial division as its senior VP. Story will oversee catalog and special marketing, TV marketing and DVD development and exploitation; he will also create a new department to develop the classical, jazz and adult music genres. Story was VP of BMG's commercial division for the U.K. and Ireland.

All the executives report to Stringer, who in September was appointed to take charge of the company's operations in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
