IDT Entertainment's New Arc Entertainment has teamed with production companies Industry Entertainment and Nice Guy Productions to create a DVD anthology series, "Masters of Horror."

IDT Entertainment's New Arc Entertainment has teamed with production companies Industry Entertainment and Nice Guy Productions to create a DVD anthology series, "Masters of Horror."

The series will include at least 13 new, one-hour films involving directors such as John Carpenter ("Halloween," "The Thing"), Joe Dante ("The Howling," "Gremlins"), Tobe Hooper ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Poltergeist") and George Romero ("Night of the Living Dead," "Dawn of the Dead").

Some of the directors will use their own screenplays; others will work with writers including Richard C. Matheson ("What Dreams May Come," "Somewhere in Time"), David Schow ("A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child," "Bullets of Rain") and Derek Haas ("2 Fast 2 Furious," "Catch That Kid").

IDT's Anchor Bay Entertainment will handle domestic distribution of the series.

The first film will start production in March in Vancouver.
