BMG bigwig Patrick Reilly is making the jump to satellite radio as senior VP of communications for Sirius. It is a new position for the company; Reilly will report to Scott Greenstein, Sirius president of entertainment and sports.

He joins Sirius from his previous role as VP of corporate communications at BMG, where he was responsible for all media relations, strategic corporate branding and internal communications. At BMG, Reilly led the creation of a worldwide corporate communications department.

Before moving to BMG, Reilly was executive VP at public relations firm Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, whose entertainment/commuunication clients included AOL, Time Warner, MTV, VH-1 and the New York Times.

A journalist by training, Reilly worked at the Wall Street Journal for 10 years as a special senior writer and staff reporter, and was a reporter for Advertising Age, Crain's New York Business, M Magazine and Women's Wear Daily.
