The U.K.-based Assn. of Professional Recording Services (APRS) has elected David Hamilton-Smith to succeed Phil Dudderidge as its new chairman.

The U.K.-based Assn. of Professional Recording Services (APRS) has elected David Hamilton-Smith to succeed Phil Dudderidge as its new chairman.

Hamilton-Smith owns the China Blue audio postproduction facility. He began his career at Olympic Studios under Keith Grant, where he recorded a broad range of music. He later worked as a freelance engineer/producer and as Head of Sound at Complete Video, where he became a director. China Blue recently opened a 5.1-channel surround mixing room.
