Books-to-home entertainment retailer Borders U.K. has restructured its multimedia buying department.

The revised structure in London will incorporate the newly-created position of senior buyer, music, to oversee the music department. The current music buyers will report into this executive, who in turn will report to category manager Stephen Imber.

"Having conducted a review of the department structure I have decided to streamline responsibilities whilst focussing particular attention on the music category," says Imber.

As part of the move, the company's DVD department is to be bolstered by the recruitment of Cheryl Norton early next year as promotions buyer. Norton is currently product manager at mail-order firm Universal Group Direct.

Product manager music and DVD Guy Raphael is to take the position of book buyer, non-fiction within the book-buying team, effective from Jan. 4. His position will not be replaced.
