Barry Manilow's yearlong engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton, announced yesterday (Dec. 15), is believed to be one of the most lucrative live performance contracts ever.

Sources put Manilow's fee at $60 million for 24 weeks -- with five shows per week -- over the course of a year. The show, "Manilow: Music and Passion," will debut Feb. 24.

The deal would top Celine Dion's $100 million three-year deal at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Vegas and Elton John's reported $50-plus million deal for his three-year, 75-show stand at the Colosseum.

Manilow, booked by Gayle Holcomb at the William Morris Agency, will perform Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and twice on Saturdays in the Hilton Theater. Tickets are $85 to $145, plus tax and service charge.
