David Novik named senior A&R VP.

David Novik has been named senior VP of A&R for Universal Classics Group. Based in New York, Novik will report to group chairman Chris Roberts.

Novik most recently headed his own consulting and production company. Prior to that, he was senior VP of A&R for RCA, where he worked with acts including the Dave Matthews Band and Bruce Hornsby.

"I believe he will be a valuable asset in strengthening our A&R presence in the U.S. crossover market, while maintaining our strong position in score-oriented soundtracks," said Roberts in a statement.

Universal Classics also names Patricia Barry and Bob Kranes as senior director of creative services and production, and director of marketing, respectively.

Barry, who was previously senior director of production for the Zomba Label Group, will report to GM/senior VP Marc Johnston and finance VP Jon Singer.

Kranes, who was previously director of marketing/product management for Sony Classical, will report to VP of marketing Randy Dry.

Both executives will be based in New York.
