Longtime Arista Nashville VP of national promotion Bobby Kraig has resigned from the company.

He underwent surgery on his spine earlier this year and has been on medical leave every since. He has now decided that a return to work will not be feasible. Senior national promotions director Teddi Bonadies has helmed the label's promotions operation in Kraig's absence.

"I took a leave of absence earlier this year due to my personal health," says Kraig. "I needed to concentrate on getting better and everyone has supported me and my family in this process. Although I have made progress I must continue to focus 100% on my health and well being and for this reason I have decided to leave indefinitely."

RCA Label Group chairman Joe Galante says, "(Kraig's) passion for the artists and team he has led is a large part of our success and he will continue to be in our hearts during this time."

Kraig joined Arista 12 years ago after a career in radio, including a programming stint at KPLX Dallas. Under his watch, Arista Nashville has been Billboard Radio Monitor's country label of the year for the last four years.
