Male vocalist Jay Chou was the big winner at the 11th annual Channel V Chinese Music Awards, held last night (Jan. 11) in Shanghai. He walked away with four awards: best male singer, most popular male singer, best singer/songwriter and song of the year.

Jasmine Leong and Jolin Tsai won for best female singer and most popular female singer, respectively. Sun Nan was named mainland China's best male singer, while Ye Pei won the territory's best female singer award.

The event, held at the Shanghai International Gymnastics Center, was presented by China Central Television, Shanghai Media Group and Channel V.

Richard Marx and Hong Kong's Ronald Cheng performed a duet of "Right Here Waiting" in English and Cantonese. Other guests included Coco Lee, Priscilla Chan, Twins, Boy'z, Nicholas Tse and Yumiko.

The ceremony will be broadcast Feb. 5 on Channel V Mainland China, as well as on CCTV and other local networks in mainland China.
