Industry veteran Rudy Tee has been named managing director of Sony BMG Philippines. The appointment will take effect when the company is legally established sometime in the next two months, according to Sony BMG Asia president Richard Denekamp, to whom Tee will report.

Tee, who has nearly 30 years experience in the Philippine music industry, is currently managing director of BMG Records (Pilipinas). He is vice chairman of local labels body the Philippine Assn. of the Record Industry and also serves on the board of the Filipino Society of Composers and Publishers.

Sony Music Philippines MD Wally Chamsay will step down once Sony BMG Philippines is incorporated.

"I am confident that once the new Sony BMG company is legally established, Rudy will bring all of his experience and passion to bear in ensuring it remains the pre-eminent record company in the Philippines," says Denekamp.
