Smithsonian Folkways Recordings has inked an exclusive digital distribution deal with MSN Music.

Under the agreement, Smithsonian Folkways' catalog of nearly 35,000 tracks -- featuring music from the likes of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Lucinda Williams, Big Bill Broonzy, Lightnin' Hopkins and Ella Jenkins -- will be available for download only through the MSN Music store.

MSN will create a special section of its store devoted to the catalog and will develop features and editorial content to promote consumer exploration of it.
