A major concert featuring a wide range of Latin stars will commemorate the 10-year anniversary of Selena Quintanilla's death. The Univision Television network has announced that on April 7, it will broadcast a live, three-hour show titled "Selena ... A 10th Anniversary Tribute," from Relient Stadium in Houston.

Selena's last concert took place at Houston's Astrodome in 1995, where she played for over 69,000 people. Confirmed acts so far for the 10th anniversary tribute include Gloria Estefan, Thalia, Pepe Aguilar, Carlos Vives, Alicia Villarreal, Aleks Syntek, Lucero, Ana Gabriel, Banda El Recodo, Intocable and Kumbia Kings, the group co-founded by A.B. Quintanilla, Selena's brother and former bandleader.

Selena's label, EMI Latin, is slated to release an album of the concert recordings later this Spring.

Selena was shot to death by the president of her fan club. Her passing, at the peak of her career and in the wake of winning a Grammy, caught mainstream America's attention like few Latin musical acts ever have. Jennifer Lopez would later star in the film "Selena," a role that would catapult her to stardom.
